Iowa.
TAIL SPINNER LURES Tail
Spinner lures are game fish baits enjoying an excellent reputation as effective
producers of Largemouth Bass and schooling fish. The vibrations of the spinner
blade are transferred to the lure itself providing terrific action.
Tail Spinner lures are easy to make. Mold a tail
spinner form into the lure body, remove the spruce, and paint. Bent paper clips
work well to hang painted lures for drying.
Assemble by attaching a Colorado spinner blade to
a clevis and then slip it on the wire shaft. Add a small bead for bearing
surface following the clevis, then form a small loop on the end of the wire to
keep everything in place. Standard treble hooks like style 374 and 954 may be
attached with size 2 or 3 split rings. Hook sizes are optional, but most
fishermen prefer sizes 4 or 6 for Tail Spinner lures.
